“The Steve Morgan foundation has been absolutely amazing from start to finish, so helpful and supportive. They were completely focused on my daughter and her meeting needs.”

Gemma Bunclark

Mother of Ruby-Mae Stephens

Ruby-Mae Stephens attends the Royal School for the Blind and is just nine years old.

In October 2024, her mother Gemma applied for a grant from the Steve Morgan Foundation for an Action 3 Junior wheelchair for Ruby to help make everyday travel a little easier. After liaising with the ‘absolutely lovely’ Debbie at SMF and being awarded one of our Enable grants, Gemma was able to purchase the wheelchair from supplier DaVinci Mobility.

The new, lightweight wheelchair has enabled general day-to-day travel for Ruby and her mum to be much easier for things we take for granted, such as transitions to and from school, going out in the community and attending various medical appointments.

The Action 3 Junior wheelchair is more compact and easier to transport rather than Ruby’s original, bulkier wheelchair which can now be saved for use in adverse weather conditions and on certain school trips that require something a little sturdier.

It is wonderful to see what a positive difference this grant has made to Gemma and Ruby and their everyday life.
