Since 2019, the Steve Morgan Foundation has provided grant support to Imagine If, a Liverpool-based charity that aims to relieve poverty, promote education and strengthen families.
Imagine If focuses on four themes: Housing, Children & Young People, Community Action and Key Partnerships. Amongst its many initiatives, the charity offers accommodation to ex-offenders, people living in hostels or people who are rough sleeping, and runs a weekly engagement programme that prepares individuals for independent living.
The grant support that the Steve Morgan Foundation has provided includes:
- £125,000 has enabled the employment of a Family Support Worker for five years, who provides tailored support to struggling families without lengthy referral processes and complications. This is helping to prevent children from falling into care.
- £18,000 of Covid-19 Emergency Support funding ensured that core costs could be covered during the first few months of the pandemic.
- £120,000, which we provided as part of the Department for Digital, Culture & Sport’s Match Challenge Fund, has enabled the expansion of the charity’s housing offer by creating an additional four bed spaces for increased independent living.
With our support, Imagine If has been able to offer a lifeline for many who would have otherwise had their children removed. We’ve also supported the charity with building up strong partnerships with local social work teams and Early Help Assessment Teams, as well as link workers and school mentors to identify families most in need.
