Sean’s Place

“Without organisations like the Steve Morgan Foundation believing in us, we wouldn’t be where we are today. This grant has given us a lifeline; it has enabled us to thrive as a service and scale up the delivery of our support.”

Debbie Rogers

Founder and CEO of Sean's Place

Sean’s Place is a family run organisation, established by Debbie Rogers in January 2020 after losing her brother Sean at just 34 years old after a long battle with mental health.  Sean’s Place is based in Sefton, Bootle and provides free and immediate access to social and therapeutic support to men across Merseyside.

In February 2023 the Steve Morgan Foundation awarded Seans Place a £98,031 grant over three years. The grant has allowed them to double their team and counselling capacity, enhance delivery by employing a suicide prevention officer, and also improve social support offerings with the inception of walking groups, a Choir of Hope, Quiet Connections, movie nights, community engagement events and much more.

Since receiving the grant, Sean’s Place has also been recognised with The Pride of Sefton award and was runner up in the Volunteer of the Year 2024 category at the SMF awards. The charity has also been successful in securing further commissioning from the NHS of over £100,000 thanks to their ability to evidence how their intervention successfully keeps people safe from suicide as well as compliments the work of the NHS by filling the gaps they are unable to cover.
