Support For Ferries Family Groups

The Steve Morgan Foundation has made a £60,000 grant towards a charity which is celebrating 30 years of supporting families in crisis across Wirral.

The funding has been awarded to Ferries Family Groups towards their core costs over three years.

Ferries Family Groups is based at St. Peter’s Church in Rock Ferry and offers support groups, parenting courses, social activities and crisis support for vulnerable families.

The aim of the charity is to grow parental confidence and well-being in order to improve outcomes for children.

Last year over 100 families were referred to the project by local services and agencies for support, and more than 50 volunteers generously donated their time to help out.

One person who has benefitted from Ferries Family Groups, said:  “Family Groups have been a lifeline for me and my children.”

Helen Wade, Project Manager said: “Funding is increasingly difficult to attain and our number of referrals is rapidly increasing so we are very grateful indeed for this continued support from the Steve Morgan Foundation.”

Jonathan Masters, Trustee of the Steve Morgan Foundation, added; “We have supported the charity with funding over a number of years and this latest award recognises the valuable work that Ferries Family Groups do in the local community.”

Further donations from the general public can be made to Ferries Family Group by text.
