Revolutionising Will’s Weekend

The mother of a boy who received an Enable grant for a new all-terrain wheelchair says their weekends have been ‘revolutionised’ by the new equipment.

We recently featured the story of 11-year-old Will, from Flintshire, who was making the most of the new wheelchair complete with additional Batec Mini attachment which turns the chair into a trike. Click here to view.

And mum Michaela, has now revealed just how much of a difference the new wheelchair has made to their lives.

“Running is my favourite thing,” she says.

“Today, for the first time ever, I got to run with both of my children alongside – or rather ahead – of me.

“Will’s Batec Mini has revolutionised our weekends!

“He pushed himself around junior parkrun first (in a new Personal Best of 29:35 minutes) and then we hitched up the Batec and had a two kilometres plod around Alyn Waters Country Park.

“We are all so happy with it, Will is thoroughly enjoying his new freedom, and we have even taken it to the beach as well.”
