The Steve Morgan Foundation is supporting a new choir in Wrexham which brings together people who have suffered from homelessness or have found themselves on the margins of society.
The Wrexham One Love Choir harnesses the uplifting and therapeutic power of song to help people develop confidence and self-esteem, fulfilment and purpose.
Weekly rehearsals are held at Trinity Church in Wrexham on Wednesdays, and the Steve Morgan Foundation has now awarded a three-year grant of £28,446 to fund the appointment of a Choir Manager.
The choir, which is hosted by rehabilitation and recovery charity CAIS, was developed by Wrexham MP Ian Lucas following the success of the first Wrexham Singing Streets festival in 2016.
He brought members of Gateway Church and charity leaders in Wrexham together with The Choir With No Name initiative, which already runs similar choirs in major cities like London, Liverpool – also funded by the Steve Morgan Foundation – Birmingham and Brighton.
