Clare's Sensory Aid

£2,000 Enable Funding

Clare, aged 40, suffers from a rare and degenerative condition called Wolfram Syndrome, which in turn means she has no central vision and only peripheral sight.  She also suffers from Diabetes, and has been forced to give up her job at Chester Zoo, but has always been keen to remain independent and active. The Steve Morgan Foundation has provided £2,000 via the Enable funding programme for a new OrCam device, which can also recognise people’s faces as well as help Clare in so many different areas of her everyday life.
Clare, who lives with her guide dog Maggie, is delighted with the OrCam and looking forward to getting plenty of use out of the new device.“I just want to thank the Steve Morgan Foundation, because the Orcam is already making a real difference for me, and will do so even more as I become familiar with its capabilities,” she said.
