Alan Says Thanks For Generosity

A man from Liverpool who is registered blind is able to work more easily – and improve in his voluntary job for his local cricket team – thanks to an Enable grant from the Steve Morgan Foundation.

Alan, aged 50, has been registered blind since 2002 after suffering a brain injury, but has received just over £300 from the Foundation for an upgrade to his Super Nova magnifier and Screen Reader.

This helps him to read incoming emails and scan documents and send them as attachments, making his life far easier, and continuing his involvement with the local blind cricket team.

“The new program enabled me to read all my mail and scan documents and made emailing a lot easier, and easier to send emails to clients regarding jobs,” says Alan, who says he found the application process for the grant, ‘very accessible and supportive’.

“Thank you so much for your generosity – this has enabled me to work from home and perform better in my voluntary job for the cricket team.”

Enable grants can be made for various sums for specialised equipment for people of all ages.  Contact (01829) 782808 for more information or check out the Enable section of the website.
